Problem

Following the partial collapse of east elevation, the remaining elevations required stabilising in the

form of lateral restraint. Brickwork to parapet wall required vertical fixings to stabilise.

Considerable out of plane bending had occurred to the boundary wall and substantial cracking to

the internal masonry walls.

Solution:

GP Structural provided a lateral restraint connection capable of transferring lateral loads to the hollowconcrete floor slabs. One metre vertical fixings drilled through the Parapet wall to stabilise. Masonry beaming using twin 8mm stainless helical rods to the horizontal bed-joints.
